Duet Wine Convivium is a coming together of two boutique wineries on the east side of Margaret River in Australia’s southwest. These two distinctive establishments have decided to team up to present the best of their products to the nation’s discerning palates.
What's on at Convivium?
There's nothing scheduled for the next little while. We're still recovering from Christmas and the New Year!Is the Convivium a wine club?
Yes and no. It’s like a wine club in that members will receive cases of wine, delivered to their door. however, unlike some wine clubs, the convivium will provide only the best wines to a limited number of members with significant other benefits...Who are we?
The wineries are Artamus and Casas.
Owned by lapsed TV chef Ian Parmenter and his grape-growing partner Ann Dewar, Artamus has been making fine single-vineyard chardonnays since 1998, some of which have won several awards. their vineyard is on the north bank of the Margaret River at Osmington.
Casas is owned by John Casas, a passionate wine aficionado and collector, who has turned his hand to producing superb red wines at his Rosa Brook property.
How does the Convivium work?
Membership is free. once signed up, members receive two 12-bottle cases of wine per annum from Duet cellars. The wines will be delivered to members’ doors in spring and autumn each year. the cost per case is $260 dollars including delivery within Australia. Members may cancel their memberships whenever they choose (but they’re not expected to want to do so!)And the wines?
The cases will be a mixture of varietals: the Artamus chardonnay and the Casas shiraz and Casas cabernet sauvignon. Special arrangements can be made for white or red only cases and for companies wishing to purchase the wines for special occasions/gifts or to apply their own labels to unlabelled bottles (limited wine available for this). The wines will be selected by the owners to suit the seasonal conditions and will match the recipes included in the shipment. Is there more?
Certainly. Members will have a chance to experience:
- Special meet-the-wine producer, members only, lunches and dinners in city and country Australia. And at the owners’ vineyards.
- Winery barrel samplings.
- Wine matching recipes from Ian Parmenter’s collection will be sent with all wines despatched.
- Members will be dealing directly with the owners. - since the wineries produce small quantities of top wines, membership will be limited.
- We will be pleased to ship one-off orders.
- Special occasions...if you want to send a gift case to someone for that special occasion, let us know what it is and we’ll include one of Ann Dewar’s handmade cards to celebrate the event (they’re bliss)...with our compliments.
- Because the owners run the show (and there are no middle-people) we can provide a VERY personal service...
